Novamedia shot and produced a series of short informational films for Petts Wood Practice in 2016. The five films were shot in one day on their site and consist of explanations from the practice’s podiatrist of various foot conditions and possible treatments. They are intended to provide useful information for the practice’s patients as well as promoting the range of services and treatments on offer.
The first film on this page is an explanation for patients of various treatments available for ingrown nails, and the second is an informational film about a particular physiological process in the foot – the Windlass Mechanism. Both feature podiatrist Martin Langdon speaking directly to camera, with various cutaways to demonstrate specific points in greater detail. They were filmed using a single-camera set-up with autocue, and edited using Adobe Premiere. The on-screen graphics were discussed with the client before the shoot, so we were able to accommodate these with little difficulty in the edit.
Finally, we created an animation of the Petts Wood Practice logo using Adobe After Effects, adding suitable music chosen from a stock music library. This animation is added to the start of all of their films, creating a unified, professional ‘look and feel’.
Our work with Dave and Rob at Novamedia aimed at combining an educational resource for our patients with valuable exposure for our practice. The resulting five videos were directed and produced in good time. Dave and Rob worked with us every step of the way helping with script changes at the start to post production tweaks at the end. The results speak for themselves.
