In
the stress of an emergency critical care situation the relatives
and friends of the patient are often concerned and unsure of what
to do.
This site was designed for a PR client in conjunction with various
organisations in order to help alleviate this situation.
It firstly allows hospitals to enter their own details into an
online database. When someone from the hospital logs on, it allows
them to then enter specific information relating to the patient
and to select from a range of topics that might be relevant to the
patient’s loved ones. On submission, a PDF file is created
that can be downloaded, printed out and given to the relatives with
all the information they might require about the hospital, the patient’s
condition and critical care issues in general.
Dynamic PDF files
The system creates the PDF file on the fly.
It uses a ColdFusion-coded module that is on the server in order
to do this. Pages are included in the file dependent upon the user’s
requests. The file is then saved on the server with a unique name
and the user is able to download the file and print it.
