The site contains comprehensive information for all users of LMS’s services including pupils and parents as well as a password-protected area for tutors who can log in remotely and download information and documents from the site.
A browser-based, password-protected admin module also allows authorized staff at LMS to control the news and events sections of the site. It also allows them to add job vacancies so that these can be advertised on the site. Changes made to any of these sections are immediately available on the site as soon as they are entered.
Dates for your Diary
We were asked to add the Dates for Your Diary section after the site was complete as the LMS wanted to be able view the list of events not only in the standard list format but also in a diary form.
There were existing modules that were available although none met the exact requirements of our brief and all had an existing admin function where events could be added, modified and deleted. This was not required as we had already built all this into the original system.
The answer was to build the diary from scratch which we did. It had to link into the existing events database and show the events in the required format.
Due to it being custom-built, the finished diary worked exactly as required.
