Munro & Forster is an independent communications consultancy. They are a top 30 agency (top 10 in health and wellbeing), and have won more than 60 industry awards.
Novamedia was asked to re-design their site in 2011. The brief was to produce a clean, professional design consistent with the M&F branding guidelines. There was also a requirement for several sections of the site to be dynamic so that staff at M&F can update the site in-house and ensure that the most relevant and current information is available to the end-user. The resulting site reflects the impactful M&F branding but is not restricted by it and allows non-technical staff a great deal of freedom in terms of controlling the content.
To give M&F staff this flexibility the site is supported by a custom-built admin module which provides control over elements on the following site sections:
- Homepage
- News
- Case studies
- Leadership team, new recruits and impactful staff
- Awards
The admin module also contains utilities for adding pictures and video to the website and downloading all messages sent via the contact page of the site.

Integrating Wordpress
Another major aspect of the new site is the addition of a blog. Rather than re-invent the wheel we decided to implement an existing blogging solution. Wordpress was the platform chosen due to its large user-base, extensibility and customisability. A custom theme was created to style the blog which ensured that it was visually consistent with the rest of the site.
Given the widespread use of Wordpress and its extensive capabilities, this solution gives M&F the maximum possible flexibility when writing their blog.
