Pace
Models sells high-quality diecast model
racing cars and motorbikes online.
The web site has been completely custom-built with the addition
of integration into
WorldPay's payment services so that credit cards can be used
securely by Pace's customers. It also uses WorldPay's anti-fraud
measures to give both client and merchant more security and peace
of mind.
We set up the various database tables needed to enable an ecommerce
system to work properly and then wrote the coding for the shopping
basket solution. The programming elements were all done using ColdFusion
which gives us maximum flexibility when doing this sort of work
or work that requires server-side code.
There is also the vitally important administration module which
allows authorised staff at Pace Models to use a browser-based system
to administer various aspects of the online shop:
Product database - adding new products or deleting or modifying
existing ones.
Order tracking - allowing orders to be tracked and fulfilled.
Invoice printing - so that invoices and delivery notes can easily
be printed thus speeding up the fulfillment process.
Customer database - via the admin module, Pace Models can send
emails to all of their customers.

A picture is worth
a thousand words
In an online store customers cannot pick
up the merchandise to view it and it is therefore vital that they
can get to see as much detail as possible.
One of the main philosophies of the Pace
Models site was that each model should be accompanied a good quality photograph. On the main information page for
the model there is one main picture and then up to three thumbnail
pictures. Clicking on a thumbnail brings up a larger picture in
a separate window. Using thumbnails on the main page ensures that
file sizes and therefore download times are kept to a minimum.
