Pace Aquatics
Pace Aquatics is an online retailer of aquatic products based in South East England. They sell a wide range of aquarium and pond products on their website which we built to their exact requirements.
The shop allows the user to easily find the products they are looking for with the inclusion of a search bar on every page. This search bar also allows people to find products by manufacturer or by product type.
The website was built with Google's Search Engine Optimisation standards in mind. These standards were written to give websites the best possible chance of gaining higher listings in the most popular search engines. To this end we:
- made full use of keywords across the site.
- made sure all relevant product images could be crawled by Google by dynamically creating meaningful description (alt) tags.
- created a 'Products Quick Links' menu on the home page. As well as providing another way for users to find the products they are looking for, this menu allows search engines to crawl the website's products directly from the home page.
- ensured the entire site would be properly crawled by Google and Google's Product Search by creating an XML sitemap (see sidebar).
The site is fully integrated with the RBS WorldPay payment system, allowing payments to be taken on all well known credit and debit cards.

Keeping the site in Google's sights
In order to ensure the latest products are listed in both Google, and in Google's Product Search, we built a system which automatically submits all of Pace Aquatics' pages and products to these sites on a daily basis.
For Google this means dynamically creating an XML sitemap file which includes a list of pages on the website as well as their priority (the home page is given a greater priority than, for example, the privacy policy as it is of greater importance).
For Google's Product Search we create a simple text file and submit it to the Google Merchant Centre. This file contains each product's URL, its name, description, price, photo, and condition. To see how Pace Aquatics' products are listed in Google's Product Search, click here
