We originally produced the Ruxley Manor website in 2006. Then, following a decision to launch their online shop, the site was completely redesigned in 2008.

The site retains many of the features of the first version such as:

  • The Special Promotions section which is fully controlled in-house. Authorised Ruxley Manor staff can add new promotions and even choose to make it a voucher promotion so that the site visitor can print off the voucher and take it along to the centre to redeem it.
  • The Garden Advice section which has grown into a library of advice articles branded with the Ruxley Manor name and logo. Here too they are able to add articles in-house as well as to upload a series of pictures to illustrate each article.
  • The Job Opportunities page is likewise fully updateable in-house. Vacancies can be added, modified and deleted.

But the main feature of the new site is the online shop. Working closely with Ruxley's Ecommerce Director, we built the functionality from the ground up to enable them to show off their products. As we were working on the site, they produced the products database and added as much information about each product as possible including pictures, descriptions and related product information. By the time the site went live, there were more than 200,000 words of information about the products.

The site has been built to give the client as much control as possible over the content. They are able to produce and upload the pictures for the home page as well as the other main product pages as well as having full control over the products on the site.
