Anatomy of a montage
The cover image we produced for High Jinks was a montage of several shots pieced together and manipulated to produce the final result. Click on the thumbnails below to see a larger version of the individual shots used to produce the montage.
The original shot of the guitarist was taken with him lying down on a white sheet with his legs in the appropriate position.
The pedal was laid upside down on the white sheet with the cables arranged. The ends of the cables were faded out in the final shot.
The guitarist's body was blurred so that the image focused on his feet on the pedal.
The shot of the blurred guitarist was montaged with the shot of the pedal. Shadows were added on the soles of the shoes to give the image more depth.
